Know how you sleep
Sleeping is a special activity that everyone does. This keeps you restrained and healthy. If you sleep less then you will feel a strange negative change in yourself. Lord Buddha says that getting up and going to sleep is the same as being alive again. We sleep and wake up every night. During this time we go through many stages. Sleep is of two types - 1. Non-Rim (NREM or Non Rapid Eye Movement) 2. Rim (REM or Rapid Eye Movement)
1. Non-Rim (NREM or Non Rapid Eye Movement): When you sleep, your body is in the position between the rim and the non-rim. There are four types of non-rim (NREM or non rapid eye movement).
Step-1: This is the initial phase of sleeping. It is almost like sleeping. In this state, any person stays for 5 to 10 minutes and after that he goes into the next phase of sleep. Step-2: In this phase the person stays for at least 20 minutes. In this phase the brain is quite active.
The actions performed by the brain are called slip spindles. Step-3: In this phase the person goes into deep sleep. During this time the brain does not work much and the body remains in a state of rest. In this phase, the noise of surrounding noise etc. does not affect the sleeping person.
Brain remains active in it. It has delta sleep. REM or Rapid Eye Movement: The phase that occurs in sleep after four stages is called RIM or Rapid Eye Movement. In this phase, the sleeping person's eyes move and his brain remains active. It is at this stage that one sees dreams and his body gets rest.
